Giving Back: Our Team Joins “Feed My Starving Children” to Make a Difference
At American Star, we believe that success means more than great results — it’s about giving back to the community and helping those in need. Last week, our team and their families volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children around the world.
Making an Impact Together
The event brought together employees, family members, and friends for a hands-on experience in packing meals for undernourished children. Working side by side, our team measured ingredients, sealed food packages, and prepared boxes ready to ship across the globe.
Every bag packed represented hope — and every box filled meant more children will receive the food they need to grow and thrive.
A Day of Teamwork and Gratitude
Volunteering together strengthened not just our sense of purpose, but also our bond as a team. It was a reminder that collaboration and compassion are at the heart of everything we do — both inside and outside the workplace.
We’re proud to support organizations like Feed My Starving Children and look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive difference in our community and beyond.

Proud Members of the Northwest Chicago Community
Since 1980, American Star has been a fixture in the community. We've worked hard to show our clients that we're the real deal - honest, dependable, prompt, and professional. We've been blessed with an ever-growing family of loyal clients for our hard work. Our success has also enabled us to give back to our communities as well. Here are just a few of the ways we do so!
Charitable Donations
Our company, and our employees themselves, regularly contribute to worthy causes and well-established, reputable charities. Did you know that charitable giving by individuals is on the decline? It's estimated that in 2022, charitable donations by individuals dropped by about 6.4%.
Of course, people across the nation have felt the pinch of increased inflation in recent years, but surely these are the times when charities need our help the most! So whether it's poverty alleviation, animal protection, ocean cleanup, or any other type of charity, we are happy to know that we will continue to do our part in our own small ways.
Food Pantries & Thanksgiving Dinners
The USDA estimates that about 34 million Americans, including 9 million children, are living in food insecurity. Food insecurity means not having reliable access to enough nutritious food due to factors like limited financial resources, food availability, and knowledge about healthy eating. It can lead to hunger, malnutrition, and other health and well-being challenges, often affecting those with low incomes.
We think that's tragic. In addition to our regular support of local food pantries, we also help local families have a special meal on Thanksgiving, by organizing food drives and Thanksgiving dinners. We spend our time and money to help those in need get a touch of holiday cheer along with much-needed nutrition.
Angel Tree
The Angel Tree charity is a program run during the holiday season by organizations like the Salvation Army. It aims to provide gifts and support to children in need. Donors choose tags from an "Angel Tree" with gift requests from children and purchase the specified gifts to bring joy to less fortunate kids during the holidays. Every year since 1979, the Angel Tree program has helped hundreds of thousands of poor and at-risk children find hope and joy in the holiday season. We greatly enjoy our companywide tradition of donating gifts to these deserving children!
